Sendai Systems is a privately held Swiss company founded in 1998.

Sendai Systems is active in 3 Areas:

• Software Development
• New Media Development and
• Technology Research (Future Studies, Intelligence and Scenario Development)

In addition, we nurture several non-profit activites, competitions and sponsoring activites ("Sendai Dreams").

Where does the our company name come from?

Sendai was chosen because its initials describe our activities:

SENDAI = Software Engineering / Network Distributed Applications & Analysis / Intertainment (= Internet Entertainment)

Our name was also chosen because of the two meanings / backgrounds :

(i) Sendai is a Japanese sounding name (in fact, it's also a Japanese city in the northern part of Japan's main island); this is a tribute to the late Atari, a very innovative company with a Japanese philosophy in logo design and name. Click here for more information.
(ii) Background in the Cyberpunk movement: 'Ono-Sendai' is the predominant console/computer in most of William Gibson's novels:

EXTERNAL

1. Open And Innovative. We leave the present to other corporations - Our mission is to look into the future and create tools and solutions for tomorrow. We want to build tomorrow today. This networked tomorrow will cross all sorts of boundaries. We thus believe this future is open and does not belong to a single company or a closed standard. We support open or cross-platform standards and solutions whenever possible.

2. Ethics drives Business with Customers and Partners. Customer first, self second. We want to underpromise and overdeliver - many corporations work the other way, especially in the IT business (Sell bad products and cash in on support afterwards...). But we think only satisfied customers will return and we want them to: We want long-term relationships with our clients and business partners based on past achievements and common values.

3. Human-friendly. First Man, then Machine. Technology is there to help people be more productive or have more fun. In reality, it's often the other way around: People must adopt to technology and its 'creators'.
We focus on solutions that stress ease of use and a human interface; we are proud to use advanced Technology foundations from Apple sharing the same ideal - making computing easy for us humans.

INTERNAL

1. The best People have a passion to work - and a thirst for learning. We want to hire them. Only people with passion for their work (Soul) and excellent knowledge (Mind) can provide the best solutions. All the way down to rewards: Everyone is rewarded directly on the projects he or she is working on.

2. Accept Change as a good thing. The only constant today and tomorrow is constant change. Everyone is encouraged to learn continually at Sendai. We aim to setup an environment where people can learn and pursue work-related interests within their regular work time.

3. Respect the individual. We want to respect individual difference on all levels - and in our daily work: There are no dress codes, no fix working hours... and we hope to maintain a good sense of humour while working hard ;-)
